Governing Circumstances: The Way of the Kingdom (Part 1 of 4)

Date of original writing: Friday, June 24, 2005

*Anywhere I use a word with “re” in the front of it, its meaning is to place us in the state of being as it was before the fall of man in Genesis 3.

We mature when problems arise. It is when circumstances arise, that we are more than conquerors. How then do we control our circumstances? We control them when we seek God’s kingdom. Genesis says that God made us in His image and likeness, to have dominion and rulership over the earth. God is in heaven. He is on earth only through us. God doesn’t wish to come down to earth Himself. That’s why He sent His Son Jesus down to earth, to redeem us, and return dominion of the earth to us. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He marched passed hades to Hell, kicked open Hell’s gates and took the keys of dominion away from Satan! Satan no longer has power over us, because Jesus took the keys away from him.

When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3, Satan gained rulership of the earth. Man was disconnected from God. Jesus’ purpose for coming to earth was not merely to forgive us of our sins, but to take back dominion of the earth from Satan, and restore it to its rightful owners, Us! Now, Jesus made dominion available again for us. The only thing we have to do is “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all will be added unto you.” Avery, very powerful verse of scripture. Seek after God-and His kingdom. Well, what does that mean? See, earth, is a colony. A colony of a supreme and higher place. A place called Heaven.

The spirit within us is not from earth, but from God, and God is in Heaven. Our bodies are of this world. That’s it. Therefore we are really ‘citizens’ of heaven living on earth. Ephesians 2:19-20 says, “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone. “
